Because of a childhood illness I grew up with many physical challenges and constant pain which has helped me appreciate being healthy. I believe the body has an incredible ability to adapt to constant external changes and remain healthy. Stresses however can lead to changes in the spine and contribute to declining health. I strive to educate my patients regarding the causes, effects, and prevention of these stresses and how chiropractic can help.

While in Hawaii, I had been walking more than ever before and I was in a great deal of pain.
Dr. Kimura invited me to his office for care for an aching back and my feet, which had been paralyzed when I was 6 years old.
The doctor expressed confidence in his abilities to help my body.
I was a bit uncertain and skeptical but he was so confident that I thought I would give it a chance.
I still couldn't move my feet after a couple visits, but I was introduced to something more important, 33 Principles of Chiropractic.

We are excited to deliver quality chiropractic care to Mesa and the East Valley community.
Our approach is simple.
We believe that health is amongst our most valuable possessions.
And while we generally meet people after they've lost their health, our commitment is two-fold.
We're committed to teaching our patients that true health is a journey, not a destination.
Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing chiropractic care.
Our desire is to see our practice members abandon the prevailing sickness care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action), in favor of the emerging wellness model.

As a lifelong athlete, I had always taken the health and wellness of my body for granted.
It wasn't until I was in college and in so much back pain that I realized what a wonderful blessing the working body is.
I attended Brigham Young University on a volleyball scholarship, and during my senior year we had an early morning practice where I swung at a ball and knew something was terribly wrong in my mid back.
I couldn't breath normally and had to hunch over while walking.
I had a big match that night and was desperate to find out what was wrong with me.

My path to becoming a Massage Therapist and Structural Integrator was a long traveled road.
At 25 (1990) I had a back injury during a hiking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon.
It was pain like I've never felt before.
Like knives jabbing me in my hip bones and searing sharp electrical pains moving down my legs which also made my feet feel tingly and numb.
The only choice it seemed doctors were giving me was pain pills and surgery, but I wanted no part of that.
Being as stubborn as I was back then, I decided to bite the bullet and laid on my stepfather's floor for about a month or so writhing and sobbing in horrible pain.

Below are the 33 Principles.
If read slowly and with an open mind, understanding universal intelligence refers to God and innate intelligence refers to our inborn wisdom or our spirits, much can be gained regarding the ways of true health and life.
The Major Premise - A Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence.
2. The Chiropractic Meaning of Life - The expression of this intelligence through matter is the Chiropractic meaning of life.
