As far as I can remember I have always been interested in healthcare and medicine. I remember being fascinated when I first learned how muscles worked and how these magnificent machines we call our bodies functioned. I knew at a young age I was going to work with people and their health; I just wasn't exactly sure in what capacity.
Not being intrigued at all with the standard approach of medicine and finding a "quick fix" for the symptom rather then removing the cause, I searched for a more natural and preventative method of treating dysfunction.I also desired to work closely with patients and to treat the entire person, thus having an impact on people's lives and not just their pain.
While in college I played basketball and after suffering a back injury during the season, I was sent to a chiropractor for treatment. I immediately knew I had found my calling. Coming from a family of six children and where working with your hands was more then just your trade, I was fascinated by the idea of "manual medicine" and hands on healthcare.
