Unified Chiropractic Association-OK
The Unified Chiropractic Association of Oklahoma is an organization dedicated to promoting Chiropractic for Oklahomans and the rights of Chiropractors. We refer patients all around Oklahoma to qualified Chiropractors in their area who are trained by an accredited Chiropractic College. We also protect the Chiropractic Practice Act and advocate for the doctors who practice under such Act in the state of Oklahoma.

We conduct continuing education seminars for chiropractors to continue to practice within the chiropractic laws of Oklahoma. After discussion about your condition with a live Chiropractic Physician of the Unified Chiropractic Association of Oklahoma, you will be given the names and contact information of several D.C.'s that not only are in the area you work or reside, but utilize the best technique, modalities and lifestyle changes to fix your condition.

The Purpose and Mission of the Unified Chiropractic Association of Oklahoma is to protect the Chiropractic Practice Act and communicate with and educate those who practice under such Act in the State of Oklahoma.
Further, the UCA shall promote the profession and support the institutions, agencies and councils in their effort to evolve the profession for the better good of the profession and the patients they serve.
In so doing, the UCA supports, inclusively, the freedom of ALL Chiropractic Physicians to practice as they please, regardless of their practice paradigm or philosophy being traditional or progressive; as long as the service they deliver is taught by an accredited Chiropractic College.

It has been documented that thoughts and emotions have a powerful influence over our physical health.
There was an interesting study conducted at UCLA in the early 1990s where 14 professional actors were recruited to study the effects of emotion on the immune system.
During the study, the actors were told which mood state they would be experiencing.
They then read the appropriate scenario, which was about 100 words long, and were told to create and experience a realistic mood by developing the scene and verbally and behaviorally acting it out while seated.
The temporomandibular joint connects the jawbone to the skull.
Up to 10 million people suffer from painful temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), according to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
Symptoms include pain in the face and neck, locked jaw or limited jaw movement, painful clicking when moving the mouth, dizziness, difficulty chewing or swallowing and a change in the way the teeth fit together.
TMD is about four times more common in women than men.
TMD has many causes, some physical, some emotional.
Most neck and upper back pain is caused by a combination of factors, including injury, poor posture, chiropractic subluxations, stress, and in some instances, disc problems.
Most people do not realize how much they move their neck during the day until they are unable to do so.
The degree of flexibility of the neck, coupled with the fact that it has the least amount of muscular stabilization and it has to support and move your 14 - 16 pound head, means that the neck is very susceptible to injury.
