Integrative Chiropractic
Growing up in Newport, Rhode Island, as the son of a funeral director, gave him a unique insight into the frailty of life. He realized at an early age that life is precious and needs to be nurtured and cherished. After serving, he also saw countless injuries and accidents which further cemented the knowledge that "life turns on a dime". After attending the US Army Academy of Health sciences he served as a PT specialist.

After his active duty service he returned to RI and worked in-home care physical therapy. Working with stroke and chronic pain patients gave him the drive to seek a career where he could help people prevent chronic pain and injury. The chiropractic philosophy was attractive to him as good health and prevention are core to chiropractic. He has to remind people that chiropractic "invented" wholistic care.

Dr. Hayes decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport IA. It was there that he met his wife Heather, who now works alongside him in the office. They have two children, Anna and Isaac.

We are to the musculoskeletal system what dentists are to teeth.
Back, neck, and joint pain; sciatica; arthritis; and sports injuries are some of the common issues that chiropractic treats, but it goes way beyond that.
At Integrative Chiropractic, we use chiropractic care to achieve whole-body wellness.
Chiropractors are experts in how your nervous system interacts with the rest of your body.
For example, when the brain sends signals to tell your heart to pump blood or tell your legs to walk, it's sending these signals along the collection of nerves that extend down your spine and through the rest of your body.
Dr. Hayes' mantra of "Better, Faster, Stronger, Younger, Leaner" is how he believes we must all actively pursue our lives.
We cannot stop the years from passing us by, but we don't have to get old.
15 years ago, Dr. Hayes realized that people could not be truly healthy until all aspects of their lives were assessed and addressed.
According to The Journal of the American Medical Association, the standard American diet is responsible for nearly 45% of deaths from heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes in the U.S.
You've seen professional athletes with brightly-colored tape crisscrossing parts of their bodies.
This isn't just flair or showmanship!
Kinesiology taping helps increase blood flow and oxygen, and aids lymph drainage.
The result is a reduction in the amount of lactic acid that builds up in muscles, helping the affected areas heal more quickly.
Of course, professional athletes aren't the only people that can benefit from kinesiology tape applications.
Kinesiology tape is great for treating common sports injuries like shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and runner's knee.
You can't let your back pain slow you down.
But if you've been dealing with pain for a while, you might be relying on medications to control your pain, which is never a good long term solution.
Or you might be considering surgery, which requires a long recovery period.
Instead, ask Dr. Hayes if spinal decompression therapy is a good alternative for you.
With spinal decompression, you simply lie on your back while the machine pulls your extremities, creating a vacuum along the sponge-like discs of your spine.
