FAKTR stands for Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehab, it is a concept that originated in 2010.
FAKTR is a unique approach to patient care that involves not only IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation), but it also utilizes many manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques and incorporates functional rehabilitation through treatment and movement.
Essentially the patient may be performing rehabilitation exercises while IASTM is being administered in order to improve ROM, proprioception, flexibility within the muscle, a reduction in pain and an improvement in performance.
