Before embarking on her chiropractic education, Dr. Cruz received her doctorate in organic chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico, graduating summa cum laude.
After working for a few years as a researcher in the pharmaceutical industry, she went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (UBCC) in Connecticut, graduating cum laude.
During her studies, she completed many clinical rotations and internships to gain as much knowledge as she could about diagnosis and treatment strategies for a variety of conditions.
