Island Wellness Resources
Thank you for visiting the website for Dr. Chris Grams, D.C., Chiropractic Center on Bainbridge Island. Here you will find useful, informative resources for your ongoing health care. From the moment you first walk through the door, your comfort and care is our highest priority. Our logo is based on the ancient symbol of the lotus flower. It grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty.

At night, the flower closes and sinks underwater, and at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurities surrounding it, the lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. It also represents long life, good health, honor and good fortune. On your initial visit with Dr. Chris Grams' she will spend an hour getting to know you and your medical history.

Only then can she make a complete and thorough evaluation of your current neuromusculoskeletal status in order to design the best treatment protocol for you. There is some basic paperwork to complete. You can DOWNLOAD it to fill out in advance if you choose.
Services
Most of us in the PNW are living with a low level deficiency that gets worse throughout the winter.
This weakens our immune system during the cold and flu season.
Many brands found over the counter claim they have 1,000 or 2,000 IU per capsule, but they really don't.
There is no guarantee that what is advertised on the label is actually in the bottle.
Some cheaper brands come from fish oil and can have high levels of heavy metals in them; it's hard to know what you're getting.
I carry Thorne, Metagenics, and Vital Nutrients products because I trust them.
Look what's coming through the clinic door!
Are you feeling the Holiday stress?
Are you sleeping poorly, feeling short tempered, or having more headaches and pain than usual?
Perhaps stress is getting the best of you.
We live our busy lives for weeks and months on end then suddenly we throw ourselves in the middle of our families to celebrate the holidays.
They know how to push your buttons because they helped install those buttons!
Its so hard to say goodbye, so lets fight!.
Back and hip pain can be so debilitating that it can bring the most stoic to tears.
Have you noticed the sudden burst of gluten free foods on the market?
Overheard a conversation to the tune of, "Is there gluten in that?"
If you aren't already riding the gluten-free train, one can't help but ask, What is the fuss about?
Am I gluten sensitive?
The first question to answer is: What is gluten?
Gluten is a storage protein found in wheat that provides the elastic structure in bread and baked goods allowing them to rise or thicken (think soups and sauces).
Proteins similar to gluten are also found in rye, spelt, oats, and barley.
Back and hip pain can be so debilitating that it can bring the most stoic to tears.
Even minor lower back pain can make it impossible for you to sit or stand comfortably for any extended amount of time.
There are basically two types of back and hip pain.
Acute back pain which is a result of a strain or injury is the most common form and usually lasts a period of a few days to a few weeks.
Chronic back and hip pain is any pain that lasts longer than three months and fortunately is uncommon.
Acute back and hip pain is usually characterized by dull aches or debilitating spasms that are intense and painful.
The word chiropractic comes from the Greek word "chiropratikos", loosely translated means 'effective treatment by hand.' Chiropractic theory focuses on the root cause of many diseases: the body's reaction to changes in its environment.
Rather than using pharmaceuticals or chemicals, the chiropractor focuses on locating and adjusting musculoskeletal structures of the body so that the nervous system and the body as a whole to adapt and recover from injury, illness, trauma or abuse.
Chiropractic care has helped patients for over 100 years to attain and maintain good health and mobility.
