You've probably heard of chiropractic care before, but do you know what that really means?
At Bird Chiropractic, we want our patients to understand what chiropractic care is and how effective the treatment can be.
A chiropractic adjustment is a correction of the spine or related areas of the body that improves your body's ability to function properly.
The Nervous System (Brain, Spine, and Nerves) is the master communication system of the body.
Spinal Misalignments (also known as subluxations) cause a decrease in ability of the nervous system to function optimally.
It may seem that chiropractic care is limited to chiropractic adjustments, but that is just another misconception.
Although we do focus on spinal adjustments, which makes us unique in our treatment of patients with spinal issues, we have many forms of therapy that we employ.
Natural forms of therapy such as cold, heat, massage, water, light, and exercise are just a few of the therapeutic treatments often used by chiropractors.
When used in a controlled atmosphere, these and other elements promote healing and treatment in the body's overall function and can help with several health issues.
Chiropractic care is sought out by so many because it is a natural, non-invasive, drug-free form of therapy.
But just because we naturally treat the body, doesn't mean we don't stay on the cutting-edge of technology!
Thanks to the latest technology there are a handful of ways that chiropractors can adjust your spine.
Some of which can be done using instrument adjusting tools.
A practitioner's skilled-hands can do things that instruments cannot do.
What instruments have to offer is that they can assist a practitioner's skilled-hands to deliver beneficial mechanical forces that would be difficult, or impossible, to produce on their own.
Chiropractic traction (also called "vertebral traction", "spinal traction" or "cervical traction") is one of the most widely used and accepted treatments for spinal, muscle and skeletal pain.
The term "traction" applies to the use of weights and other forces to treat skeletal and muscular disorders, pinched or compressed nerves and injuries to the joints, vertebrae, muscles and ligaments by stretching the muscles and ligaments and increasing the space between vertebrae.
Chiropractic traction may also help to relieve the pain caused by herniated or bulging discs or by disc degenerative disorders.
