Services
Although each doctor' s process will vary, generally you can expect to complete a full medical history questionnaire and "new patient" paperwork.
You will then consult with the doctor.
This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter.
It is also for the Chiropractor to express his role in your health care and discuss your health prognosis.
A physical exam will be performed which may include orthopedic testing, reflex assessments, muscle testing, and a specific Chiropractic evaluation.
Dr. Cory Ferguson is the co-founder and President of the American Spinal Decompression Association.
He has trained other doctors throughout the country in proper treatment and patient selection for this non-surgical technique for Sciatica, Bulging and Herniated Discs and other difficult low back conditions.
The nation-wide network of doctors has been approved; these doctors have passed internal certifications to insure clinical proficiency in the delivery of spinal decompression therapy.
Members of the association are also dedicated to making this safe, breakthrough therapy available to all patients, providing stress-free payment plans.
Eighty percent of people suffer from back pain at some point in their lives.
Back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor's office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory infections.
In fact, it is estimated that low back pain affects more than half of the adult population each year and more than 10% of all people experience frequent bouts of low back pain.
The susceptibility of the low back to injury and pain is due to the fact that the low back, like the neck, is a very unstable part of the spine.
Your neck, also called the cervical spine, begins at the base of the skull and contains seven small vertebrae.
Incredibly, the cervical spine supports the full weight of your head, which is on average about 12 pounds.
While the cervical spine can move your head in nearly every direction, this flexibility makes the neck very susceptible to pain and injury.
The neck's susceptibility to injury is due in part to biomechanics.
Activities and events that affect cervical biomechanics include extended sitting, repetitive movement, accidents, falls and blows to the body or head, normal aging, and everyday wear and tear.
The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body.
It runs from your pelvis, through your hip area and buttocks and down each leg.
The sciatic nerve branches into smaller nerves as it travels down the legs providing feeling to your thighs, legs, and feet as well as controlling many of the muscles in your lower legs.
The term sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of this nerve.
Sciatica is actually a sign that you have an underlying problem putting pressure on a nerve in your lower back.
