Ashley Spector graduated Magna Cum Laude from Parker College of Chiropractic, one of the top ranked Chiropractic Colleges in the country.
During her internship, she was selected for an exclusive program that allowed her to work at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas.
At the VA Hospital, Dr. Spector treated many challenging cases but realized through that experience that she wanted to focus on treating more families, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and helping prevent injuries and illness.
What is chiropractic care?
There's nothing mysterious about chiropractic.
It's a natural method of health care that focuses on treating the causes of physical problems, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Chiropractic is based on a simple but powerful premise.
With a normally functioning spine and healthy nerve system, your body is better able to heal itself.
That's because your spine is the lifeline of your nervous system.
It controls feeling, movement, and all function through your body.
How does chiropractic work?
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment.
It uses needles to stimulate qi (electrical energy) in the acupuncture meridian system (located in the connective tissue/collagen of our bodies).
What Should I Expect During Acupuncture Treatment?
The first treatment will consist of an initial evaluation.
This will give us an opportunity to get to know each other and to determine what are the best treatment options for you for your current condition.
The initial evaluation will also include 15-20 minutes of actual treatment with a total time of approximately 60 minutes.
Chiropractic works because you are a self-healing, self-regulating organism controlled by your nervous system.
Millions of instructions flow from your brain down the spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue.
Signals sent back to the brain confirm if your body is working right.
Improper motion or position of the moving bones of the spine, called "subluxation, " can interfere with this vital exchange by irritating nerves and compromising the function of affected organs and tissues.
Specific spinal adjustments can help improve mind/body communications.
New Patients: Please print, fill out and bring the appropriate new patient packet with you to your first appointment.
What to expect: During your first appointment, you will receive a consultation with the doctor discussing what your health concerns are and what goals you have for chiropractic care.
After this, there will be an exam that will check your posture, range of motion, and feel your spine and muscles for any problem areas.
Overall appointment time is about an hour.
In some cases, patients will be send to an imaging center for x-rays to check the joint integrity, and rule out anything that might make it unsafe to receive chiropractic care.
