Did you know that chiropractic dates back to the time of Hippocrates?
He believed that if the spine was misaligned, it greatly contributed to the health of an individual.
The modern day school of chiropractic dates back to 1895, when Dr. Daniel Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing 17 years prior.
The story goes that prior to losing his hearing the man had heard something pop in his back.
Upon the adjustment of the man's misaligned vertebrae his hearing greatly improved.
While the medical community criticized this new technique for healing the body, the people who followed in these footsteps found an amazing new way of dealing with illness and disease.
Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of us.
Maybe we've heard through a friend or have done some research online.
It's possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it's time to do something about it.
In either case, your first visit to the chiropractor will really be about getting to know the chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals.
As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by finishing some new patient paperwork.
Upon meeting with the doctor, you'll discuss your concerns and expectations as well as have the chance to ask any questions you may have.
I have experienced so many changes I can't tell you them all.
All I can say is that everything in my life seems to be coming together in a higher level of order.
I am taking less medications and feel great!
The Arthritis pain is gone as well as the frequent feelings of anxiety, fear and depression.
They have been replaced with a joie de vive.
Thank-you for restoring my life to me? a life full of good things.
I want to express my gratitude.
My son had a neck problem for over a year, which all types of massage, cranial sacral, and chiropractic were not able to totally cure.
Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine.
The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity, mental and emotional stress, chemical toxicity or physical trauma such as a car accident.
In addition to the more traditional types of manual adjustments, Dr. Kettering has taken advanced training in the use of the ArthroStim.
The ArthroStim is a hand held instrument that is an extension of the doctors hand and allows for a more controlled and specific force to correct spinal misalignments.
