Active Release Techniques (ART) is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system and movement-based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.
ART certified doctors diagnose damaged tissues by palpating the area of injury and evaluating the texture, tightness, adhesions, and movement of the tissue.
The damaged tissues are then treated with a combination of precisely directed tension and specific patient movements.
Thus, ART can be used as both a diagnostic and treatment tool, allowing for each treatment protocol to be individualized for each patient.
At its core is the philosophy of Qi (pronounced "chee"), the vital energy, that flows throughout the body.
Qi animates the body and protects it from illness, pain, and disease.
Through acupuncture, an individual's Qi is optimized resulting in enhanced recuperative power and immunity, increased physical and emotional stress, as well as improved overall function and well-being.
During an initial examination, a full health history will be taken and specific questions will be asked regarding symptoms, health, and lifestyle.
A chiropractic adjustment is a highly specific maneuver that is applied to joints in the body with restricted movement in order to restore their proper motion and normal function.
Chiropractors determine these areas of restriction within the spine or extremities that are often the cause of pain during a thorough examination.
Once an adjustment has been performed, the effects are often times immediate.
Decreased pain, increased flexibility, normalized muscle tone, and improved functioning of the nervous system are just a few of the benefits of the chiropractic adjustment.
