The spine is our backbone and extends from our necks to our tailbones.
A healthy spine is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle.
The spine consists of 33 relatively small bones, called vertebrae.
The neck part of the spine, called cervical spine consists of 7 vertebrae.
There are 12 vertebrae in the upper and mid back (thoracic spine) and 5 in the low back or lumbar spine.
Five bones fuse together in the tailbone region to form the sacrum and below that is the coccyx, formed by 4 bones.

Chiropractors work with the bones and nerves of the spinal column and spinal cord respectively.
Chiropractors spend years of highly specialized training in order to locate where misplaced spinal vertebrae are impinging the nerves which travel down the spinal cord and out through the spinal column to the muscles, organs and glands of the body.
After locating the vertebrae impinging the nerves (subluxations), the chiropractor, using various highly specialized techniques, is able to replace the misplaced vertebrae and thus release pressure on the nerves.

Dr. Seery entered the Chiropractic Health Care field following a car accident in which he injured his lower back and legs.
Through the help of his father, Dr. William Seery, Sr., and another chiropractor, Bill rehabilitated and now has no difficulty or pain.
Being treated conservatively without drugs or surgery he saw the important changes and increased health and well-being he received through Chiropractic Care.
After earning a B.S. In Biology from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, he attended the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic where he received a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree.

Have you ever wondered how much education your Doctor of Chiropractic is required to have compared to a medical doctor?
Look at these basic educational requirements for graduates of both chiropractic colleges and medical schools.
Each has its own specialties, but the hours of classroom instruction are about the same.
The early, formative years of chiropractic education, like those or medicine, may have left much to be desired.
But this is true of nearly every science in its infancy.
Doctors of Chiropractic must satisfy a demanding academic course that leads to a first professional degree requiring six academic years of study -- two years preparatory and four years professional.
