We are dedicated to serving you and your family through gentle and precise Upper Cervical care. Sarah specializes in balancing the first vertebra in your neck, called the atlas. This wing-shaped bone right underneath your skull protects the "wires" of the communication network that connect your brain, spine, and body. We believe your body is self-healing: When your brain and body can communicate, your nervous system functions and your body is able to express optimal health.

An initial history and evaluation is needed to determine a treatment plan that is specifically geared to your needs.
A treatment plan includes a detailed analysis of your images as well as recommendations for appointment frequency, length of treatment plan, and lifestyle adjustments, including diet and exercise.
These are taken to measure the displacement of the Atlas vertebra in three different planes, from the top, the front, and the side.
Limited images are also taken after the first treatment.

Schilbach Chiropractic is a specific and unique type of chiropractic practice.
We focus on the precise correction of a single bone in the Upper Cervical spine called Atlas (also called Cervical 1 or C1).
This bone connects the body and spine with the brain.
The procedure is called Advanced Atlas Orthogonal.
We correct misalignment of the head and neck (subluxation), using a gentle and precise correction.
This is accomplished with one specific percussive sound wave adjustment.
This restores nerve function between the spine and the brain.

Anybody who has experienced trauma can benefit from Upper Cervical Chiropractic.
Following a fall, car accident, childbirth or other trauma, symptoms can be triggered immediately or can take months or years to develop.
These symptoms are a result of an imbalanced nervous system.
The purpose of Upper Cervical Chiropractic is to reverse the trauma-induced, upper neck injury; thereby reducing nerve interference to the nerves surrounding the brain stem and spinal cord and restoring balance and function of the nervous system.

Thermographic evaluation to see if you are holding your adjustment and whether an adjustment is needed.
Given the critical role of the nervous system in health and disease, thermography of the paraspinal muscles of the neck is performed on each visit to monitor the response of the nervous system to treatment.
Measurements are compared with research-normed values to determine how well the nervous system is functioning.
This is one factor that determines whether your Upper Cervical spine needs to be adjusted.
