Our philosophy maintains that our bodies have the potential to heal from within using all of the physiologic processes given us.
When outside forces or stressors interrupt this natural potential within us, outside intervention is required to regain this balance or pain, dysfunction, and dis-ease ensues.
In 1895 D.D. Palmer, the founding father of Chiropractic, identified 3 forces or stressors most likely to interrupt our healing potential.
He called them the 3 T's: Trauma, Toxins, and Thoughts.
Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT) Chiropractic uses only gentle pressure to adjust misalignments and is recognized by many Chiropractic practitioners worldwide as the best method for correcting spinal misalignments.
DNFT was developed by the late Dr.
Richard VanRumpt about 60 years ago and is now being further developed by Christopher John, DC, his successor.
Gentle enough for infants and the elderly yet so effective DNFT can dramatically improve athletic performance.
This non-force approach delivers powerful, lasting results without the use of sudden movements or cracking of joints, and x-rays are rarely required.
Dr. Mikah Cook was first introduced to chiropractic, specifically DNFT chiropractic, in her early 20's while working in the supplement department at a health food store in Southern California.
The outcome of those treatments was so successful that it directed her path towards spine health and a lifelong passion of becoming a DNFT practitioner herself.
She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose California, December of 2020.
Dr. Cook brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to her profession including an undergraduate degree in Fitness, Nutrition and Health, training in integrative Ayurveda (a holistic system of health care) and functional yoga-the proposition that our skeletons, tissues, physiology, temperament, and motivation are made and organized in a way that is uniquely ours-and she is well-versed in treating mold toxicity.
DNFT at Back in Place Chiropractic can relieve pain, improve function, and enhance your overall well-being.
If you haven't done so, please read about DNFT, the powerful non-force chiropractic method that has our patients jumping for joy over their recovery.
During your initial visit, Dr. Pamela Lovell or Dr. Mikah Cook will learn about you and your health concerns by assessing your chief complaint with a detailed examination and history.
Dr. Pam or Dr. Cook will ask you about your short-term and long-term goals and what you seek to benefit from your chiropractic care.
