We seek to educate our patients about Chiropractic and other natural solutions to common health problems in order to motivate you to take a more active and responsible role in restoring and maintaining your own health, as well as the health of those close to you. As a chiropractic care facility, we understand that although patients may be diagnosed with the same medical condition, they can respond very differently to treatment.
For this reason, Dr. Ortego develops a specific plan of action to meet your individual needs, goals, and unique medical and physical condition. Finding a chiropractor who understands changing health care needs and uses the most current techniques and approaches to addressing health problems can be a daunting task. You will experience gentle, state-of-the-art care tailored to address your specific needs at Ortego Chiropractic Health Center.

Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of us.
Maybe we've heard through a friend or have done some research online.
It's possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it's time to do something about it.
In either case, your first visit to the chiropractor will really be about getting to know the chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals.
As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by finishing some new patient paperwork.
Upon meeting with the doctor, you'll discuss your concerns and expectations as well as have the chance to ask any questions you may have.

Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine.
The objective of this movement is to realign vertebrae that have moved out of place for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily activity to trauma such as a car accident.
When these vertebrae are out of place, it has an overall systemic effect from muscular to the central nervous system.
Without proper alignment and flow of all nerves and systems in the body from the brain, we can't function at our peak.

Partial sit ups are recommended for people with back pain.
The same muscle groups are worked out without putting stress on the lower back.
You will start just like a regular sit up with your back on the floor, both feet on the floor, and your knees bent.
Raise your head, neck, and shoulders off of the floor and hold that position for 5 seconds.
This exercise will strengthen your core and is simple to do.
Repeat as many times as you can, with a goal of increasing your reps each day.
You start this exercise the same way like the partial sit up.

X-rays are often taken on most patients to give the doctor an inside look at what is going on with the bone structure of the entire spine and surrounding skeletal structure.
From this x-ray, the doctor can tell your current spine angles as well as any potential further issues including the potential for additional information such as an MRI.
