Services
Dr. Folweiler is a former competitive triathlete.
Sidelined by sports injuries, he sought chiropractic care, based on a recommendation from a friend.
Chiropractic care helped him overcome sports injuries to go on to compete well in dozens of triathlons.
After some soul searching, Dr. Folweiler felt that the best way that he could help humanity was by becoming a chiropractor himself.
He enjoys helping people overcome their health concerns to get back to doing what they love.
Dr. Folweiler has been a practicing chiropractor in the Pacific Northwest since 1994 and in North Seattle since 1998.
Dr. Folweiler has been adjusting patients since 1991.
He uses a hands-on approach that allows for the maximum amount of control and feedback.
This adjustment style is referred to as manual, diversified, or osseous.
By using a test-exercise-retest approach, we can determine which stretches, exercises, and therapies are most likely to address a patient's underlying dysfunction.
Rehabilitation techniques can be used to treat neck and back pain, whiplash, disk herniations, sports injuries, overuse and repetitive stress injuries, tennis elbow, knee pain, ankle sprains, shoulder injuries, and more.
Dr. Folweiler has been providing chiropractic care for residents of the Pacific Northwest since 1994.
Dr. Folweiler holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, a master's degree from the California Institute of Technology, and a doctorate cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College.
He is board certified as a chiropractic rehabilitation specialist by the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board.
He is a member of the Washington State Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission and the Industrial Insurance Chiropractic Advisory Committee.
Myth: An x-ray/MRI will reveal the cause of my back pain.
Fact: In most cases of back pain, imaging will either appear normal or have common findings associated with aging.
Imaging rarely shows what is causing your pain (disc herniations are an exception to the rule).
Disc bulges and other findings are found very commonly in people without pain.
Myth: Nothing has helped me.
It must be all in my head.
Fact: This one is partially true.
Yes, pain is something that your brain experiences, but back pain is very real.
Neck and shoulder pain is very common, but it is NOT normal.
We have been helping patients with neck and shoulder pain get relief for over 20 years.
Many people have had neck pain for so long, they had given up hope of getting out of pain.
There can be many causes of neck and shoulder pain.
It can be caused by muscle tightness or strain, tears or herniations of spinal discs, and posture.
Modern life offers many conveniences, but sadly it also commonly creates neck pain.
Sitting in front of a computer, sleeping awkwardly, and working overhead can all cause neck pain.
