Services
One of the very first chiropractors in Baton Rouge, Dr. Nelson opened Ozark Chiropractic Clinic in 1978.
The name of our practice comes from Ozark Street, our original location.
Over the years Ozark Chiropractic Clinic has placed a continual focus on education and certification, making our staff the best qualified and prepared, and ensuring our doctorsare most knowledgeable.
Our staff is highly skilled in handling insurance claims and electronic billing, and can handle any type of case with expertise that makes their work seem easy.
Jessica Weigand has been managing the Ozark Chiropractic Clinic office for 7 years.
She has a degree in Human Ecology from LSU as well as being certified to take X-Rays in our clinic.
Her organization skills and charm ensure our patients get there questions answered and our office runs effectively and smoothly.
Jessica's loves are her two boys, her pug Gracie, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
She also enjoys breeding, raising, and rescuing reptiles with her husband.
Brooke Nelson has been a chiropractic assistant for several years.
Dr. Vanessa attended LSU for her undergraduate work - she had always planned to become a chiropractor.
Later Dr. Vanessa attended Texas Chiropractic College and she remembers going through that experience as a very special time in her life.
Dr. Vanessa wants so badly to be a part of that miraculous change so many patients experience, that she says one of her biggest personal challenges is managing her time with patients.
She often finds herself wanting to fix every part of each patient, and she is willing to invest a lot of time to do so.
Dr. Nelson had planned to become an osteopathic surgeon, along with his cousin.
But he decided that the hospital environment didn't suit him and that healing with his hands was what God was calling him to do.
Chiropractor Baton Rouge has allowed him to still pursue his passion for chiropractic each and everyday.
Dr. Nelson believes it's important to involve patients in the change they want to see in their own health.
Medicine is designed to treat disease, not patients.
So often people are looking for a pill.
Almost every joint in the body can be adjusted in this manner, and spinal adjustments are particularly effective for problems affecting the nervous system.
The Ozark Chiropractic Clinic uses a special hand arrangement to deliver the correct thrust in the right place on your body.
This arrangement is called a "pisiform contact" and the style we use for adjusting your spine is commonly called "Diversified."
Before we begin any treatment, an initial analysis of your spine is made which can include visual observations, x-rays of your spine, and a review of your case history.
