Chelsea originally hails from the Finger Lakes Region in Upstate New York.
While she may be new to the Philly area, she is very familiar with the chiropractic world.
This is the second chiropractic office that she has managed and heard so many chiropractic success stories, especially from patients who suffer from headaches, ear infections, and vertigo.
She wishes she had chiropractic earlier in her life as a kid to help with her multiple bouts of ear infections that took a toll on her hearing.
Sports have always been a huge part of her life, from her black belt in karate, softball, downhill ski racing, Division III field hockey, roller derby, and more!
Studies show that on average 80% of our population will suffer from back pain during their life.
And for a lot of these people, it will affect their overall lifestyle over a long period of time, as well as their health.
Back pain is experienced through irritation to your nervous system.
Your nervous system is the only system in the body that actually feels pain.
So, if you are experiencing back pain, it is because there is something irritating the nervous system.
The nervous system consists of the brain, the spinal cord, and the nerves that exit out in-between the bones.
Sciatica pain affects a lot of people every year.
For most people, the pain starts in their lower back and radiates down one or both of their legs.
Others experience the pain, numbness, or tingling just in their legs, feet or toes.
Sciatica takes its name from the sciatic nerve, which is the longest and largest nerve in the body.
The sciatic nerve originates in the lower back area know as the lumbar spine.
The sciatic nerve contains five nerves which run all the way down into your toes.
For this reason, some people experience pain, or a tingling running from their lower back, down their leg, and into their toes.
Neck pain is something everyone deals with throughout our entire lives-from the trauma of birth to waking up with a "crick in your neck."
The big question is how do you treat your neck pain?
Many chose to ignore it, some will take medication to deal with the pain, some will see a doctor if the pain persists, and others will recognize how important the nerves running through your neck are and see a chiropractor to make sure the problem is actually corrected instead of medicated.
People often take the health of their neck for granted.
In our almost 20 years of practicing chiropractic care, we often see patients that come to our office saying they have been diagnosed with a pinched nerve, or describing symptoms of pinched nerves in their neck.
A pinched nerve can manifest itself through many symptoms.
In each case, the nerve is being irritated, feeling pressure from inflammation, or being pinched.
They may also be experiencing a limited range of motion, trouble sitting for long periods of time, difficulty in standing from a seated position, problems bending forward or backward, and even sleeping in certain positions.
