There are several types of adjusting methods that I use, ranging from gentle non-force to traditional manipulation.
Your condition will dictate which method is used.
Modalities such as ultrasound, muscle stimulation, traction, laser, and interferential are often used to reduce pain, reduce muscle spasm, and increase blood flow.
Physiotherapy will vary depending on whether the condition is acute or chronic.
Myofascial bodywork is a wonderful method used to break up scar tissue and adhesions, which are often the cause of dysfunctional movement patterns.
Chiropractic treatment could offer the solution if chronic pain is one of your PTSD symptoms.
Manual manipulation of the spine and other joints in the body have been around for a long time.
Ancient writings from China and Greece dating between 2700 B.C. and 1500 B.C. mention spinal manipulation and the maneuvering of the lower extremities to ease low back pain.
The primary focus of chiropractic is simply to adjust the spine and remove those things which interfere with the body's natural normal healing ability.
Chiropractors understand that one of the main causes of pain and disease is the misalignment and abnormal motion of the vertebrae in the spinal column called a subluxation.
Chiropractic works by removing these subluxations in the spine, thereby relieving pressure and irritation on the nerves, restoring joint mobility, and returning the body back to a state of normal function.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that chiropractic care is one of the most effective treatments for back pain, neck pain, headaches, whiplash, sports injuries and many other types of musculoskeletal problems.
Chiropractic doctors practice natural, drugless, non-invasive health care and rely on the body's ability to self-heal.
Sounds ideal, but just how does it work?
Like other health-care providers, we follow a standard routine to gain information about the patient.
We consult, review the case history, conduct a physical examination, and we may request laboratory analyses and/or x-rays.
Unlike other health-care providers, however, chiropractic physicians also conduct a careful analysis of the patient's structure and pay particular attention to the spine.
