Dr. Shaw was born and raised in the Blue Water Area in Sarnia, Ontario. After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa he and his wife, Kelly, decided to come back to the area to open Shaw Chiropractic so they could be near their families and raise their own children, Tyler and Kathryn.

Throughout the past 25 years, Dr. Shaw has graciously given back to our community by serving as the team chiropractor of the semi-professional hockey teams, through many sponsorships to sports teams, supporting many city recreation events, and not for profit organizations. When professional athletes and musical artists have been in town Dr. Shaw has been called upon by several to treat them while they were away from their own chiropractors.

Many young people have come to job shadow Dr. Shaw with approximately 10 of them becoming chiropractors themselves. Three of the job shadows were all from the same hockey team that he coached and another is his partner today, Dr. Adam J. (AJ) Armbruster.

Unlike adults, children don't always appreciate the benefits of a good night's sleep.
While parents look forward to slipping under the covers at the end of a long day, kids find plenty of creative excuses to delay bedtime.
Unfortunately, bedtime delays can decrease the quality and duration of your child's sleep and affect his or her behavior and performance at school.
Following a few of these suggestions can help you ensure that your child gets enough rest at night.
Even slight sleep deficits can affect your child's grades.
Summertime in Michigan means everyone's thoughts turn to the outdoors.
We want to get out in the sun and have some fun.
Some people do exercise outdoors, such as running, walking, and biking, all year long regardless of the weather.
For others, summer's warmer temperatures make activity outside the house or the gym more inviting, and tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds become filled with younger and older athletes, all looking to bounce, hit or kick a ball around with their friends.
Now that just about everyone, including most kids, has a phone in their pocket everywhere you turn you see people looking down hunched over texting.
Text Neck is a new phenomenon, and many people have never even heard of it.
Text Neck is the name given to the increasingly common neck, upper back, and shoulder pain many people are experiencing.
This pain typically starts in the neck and spreads from there.
As you may have surmised, the name "Text Neck" comes from the pain experienced in the neck and upper back from text messaging.
