ARETE Chiropractic
At ARETE Chiropractic in Portsmouth, NH we use the Blair Chiropractic Technique to adjust the upper cervical spine. Measurements from a 3-D image of where the skull meets the neck allow to know precisely how your body needs to be adjusted. This specificity makes your adjustment very effective at restoring posture and relieving pain with the least amount of force.

Our patients are amazed at how such minimal input can create such global change. Through care our patients are pleased to see and feel their body change. Each visit your body balance is tested and on re-evauluations ranges of motion, posture and muscle tone are re-tested to quantify your progress. The majority of patients that come to see us report headaches, neck pain, head/ neck trauma and postural problems, but we can assess all other spinal related problems.

Most of our patients report improvement in their symptoms at the end of the initial period of care (approx 10-12 visits). This allows you to spend more time feeling better and less time in the office!
Services
I believe healing is a process that requires a holistic understanding of the connection between body, mind, nutrition, and exercise.
I enjoy working with patients who play an active role in their health care to achieve their unique goals.
Most important in achieving those goals is an authentic communication grounded in trust and honesty.
This will not only help with acute care but also provide access to support and motivate people in creating a healthy, active life beyond illness.
Dr. Beebe is currently in private practice and is the co-owner of Arete Chiropractic in Portsmouth NH.
If together we decide that you're a good candidate for our care, you will be referred for specialty Upper Cervical Imaging with Cone Beam CT.
Your second visit is all about the information.
After your initial consultation we will review and analyze the data we collected in addition to the imaging results taken with Cone Beam CT.
From there, we are able to make treatment recommendations and discuss financial options.
Following that discussion you will receive your first UPPER CERVICAL ADJUSTMENT in our office!
Liz has been under upper cervical care for about 6 months now and in this testimonial video she will share her journey so far.
Chronic Migraine headaches are caused by many different factors.
An important factor is the relationship between chronic migraine headaches and the upper neck.
Specifically how the base of your skull connects to the top couple of vertebrae in the cervical spine.
C1 and C2, or Atlas and Axis, as they are called, are the most freely moving vertebra in the entire spine.
This gives us a great range of motion in our neck but also means that when the body has trauma, it is an area that is likely to mis-align.
When you think of classic Chiropractic, you think of manual manipulation, a bend of the neck, and a crack that comes out of the joint.
Upper Cervical Chiropractic care is different.
When we adjust your spine, you are in a neutral position.
It is extremely gentle, the neck does not pop or crack when we adjust it.
Because it is very gentle, and there is no manual manipulation, the adjustment does not hurt at all.
It is fast and the table makes a noise, so it can be startling.
Afterward, as the body restructures, there can be some achiness, but the adjustment does not hurt.
