This award is given every year to a doctor of chiropractic that demonstrates exemplary service and leadership to the community as well as the profession. I've been coming here since 2009. When WWII broke out, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he flew C-46's and 47's over the Pacific Ocean.
Upon the end of the war, he returned to his family in El Paso and reopened his practice in the Downtown area.
Chiropractic was not as widely accepted in the 1940s.
As a result, he had very few patients.
People would say they did not believe in Chiropractors.
His answer was always "you do not have to believe in Chiropractic to come to my office, you just have to let me treat you and will become a believer."

Dr. Smith, Jr. was awarded both the Young Chiropractor of the Year in Texas in 1982 and the Keeler Award in 1997 by the TCA.
