At Charlottesville Family Chiropractic we know that a misaligned body can affect many different areas of life. From the inability to complete daily tasks to missing out on important moments with those we love, health problems can truly keep us from living life to the fullest. That is why we use non-invasive and holistic techniques to decrease symptoms, promote wellness, and help our patients get back to enjoying life.

One of the things that sets Charlottesville Family Chiropractic apart from other Charlottesville clinics is our ability to effectively treat mothers and children. In fact, as a pregnancy and prenatal chiropractor, Dr. Cynthia Hatton treats maternity and pediatric patients. She is certified in The Webster Technique, a pregnancy treatment shown to ease the trauma to both mom and baby during birth.

The Webster Technique has also been shown to reduce breech birth issues and other malposition disorders before labor begins. She's also certified in Craniosacral Therapy, and holds the only Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP) in Central Virginia.
Services
Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Charlottesville Family Chiropractic emphasizes improving your health in an effort to reduce the risk of pain and illness in the first place.
Most people would rather be healthy and avoid illness, if they could.
This is one of the main reasons for the big surge in the popularity of our wellness center.
For some, Charlottesville Family Chiropractic will take them back to a place that is cozy and familiar, offering a rediscovery of health and wellness that had been previously known but long lost.
Chiropractic treatment could offer the solution if chronic pain is one of your PTSD symptoms.
Manual manipulation of the spine and other joints in the body have been around for a long time.
Ancient writings from China and Greece dating between 2700 B.C. and 1500 B.C. mention spinal manipulation and the maneuvering of the lower extremities to ease low back pain.
The primary focus of chiropractic is simply to adjust the spine and remove those things which interfere with the body's natural normal healing ability.
Chiropractors understand that one of the main causes of pain and disease is the misalignment and abnormal motion of the vertebrae in the spinal column called a subluxation.
Chiropractic works by removing these subluxations in the spine, thereby relieving pressure and irritation on the nerves, restoring joint mobility, and returning the body back to a state of normal function.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that chiropractic care is one of the most effective treatments for back pain, neck pain, headaches, whiplash, sports injuries and many other types of musculoskeletal problems.
Chiropractic doctors practice natural, drugless, non-invasive health care and rely on the body's ability to self-heal.
Sounds ideal, but just how does it work?
Like other health-care providers, we follow a standard routine to gain information about the patient.
We consult, review the case history, conduct a physical examination, and we may request laboratory analyses and/or x-rays.
Unlike other health-care providers, however, chiropractic physicians also conduct a careful analysis of the patient's structure and pay particular attention to the spine.

I have benefitted tremendously from the chiropractic care I received from Dr. Prax.
Not only has the adjustments helped alleviate my stiffness and aches, but it has helped me have more energy and just feel more balanced overall.
