Bedford Center Chiropractic
Living with chronic, recurrent or severe back pain, neck pain, headaches and the after-effects of whiplash or sports injuries is no fun. It can have a debilitating effect on your life, making each day a chore and forcing you to give up enjoyable activities. Imagine being out of pain, what could you do? At Bedford Chiropractic our goal is to find out what is causing your pain, help you correct it and show you how to maintain a healthy pain-free lifestyle.

We teach our patients how to safely resume their activities with a better understanding of what causes pain, how to avoid it and when to seek treatment. Our goal is to make people as self-sufficient as possible using rehabilitation and home exercises. We offer treatment options when required. Two months of physio, massage and osteopathy did very little to help me with the pain from my injury.

Just one session with Dr. Bodnar and the pain was greatly reduced.
Services
Dr. Bodnar first experienced the benefits of chiropractic care following a whiplash injury from a downhill skiing crash.
Already looking at careers in the medical field, the hands-on treatment approach and effective results using chiropractic care attracted Dr. Bodnar to the profession.
After completing a B.Sc. majoring in Biology at the University of Western Ontario Dr. Bodnar went on to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1990.
After graduation in 1994 Dr. Bodnar moved to Nova Scotia looking for a good place to raise a family, enjoy the outdoors and build a practice.
Chiropractors are well known for treating back pain, but as specialists in non-surgical spine care, we also treat neck pain, headaches, sciatica and whiplash.
In addition, we treat almost any joint or muscle problems in the body, including: tendonitis, repetitive strain injuries, shoulder, elbow and wrist pain, carpal tunnel problems, hip, knee and ankle/foot pain.
The right combination of treatments is very individual.
Our "evidence based" approach takes into account personal preference, research evidence and clinical experience.
We provide clinical gowns and shorts for your examination, or you can wear your own loose fitting clothing.
You will always have the choice to accept or decline any examination or treatment procedure.
We can only recommend what we think will work based on the exam finding.
It is up to you, the patient, to choose the path right for you.
Patient comfort is a high priority.
Treatment pain or discomfort is seldom necessary.
We ask you to keep us informed of your response to treatment so we can make changes as needed to improve your comfort.
Treatment can offer excellent short term pain relief, but long term management typically requires more effort.
Keeping the pain away, especially for chronic or recurrent problems, can be more challenging.
The third step is to avoid re-injury.
With improved ergonomics, better lifting techniques and mechanics you can minimize the risks of re-injury.
Finally, infrequent care can help address any minor flare-ups before they turn into bigger problems.
Much of our understanding on how the spine works, or more importantly how it breaks down, is based on the research of Dr. Stuart McGill.
