Dr. Guin was born in San Diego, California.
Her family lived in numerous states prior to moving to Georgia in 1984 where she lived in the Lilburn area until 1995.
Upon graduation from Brookwood High School she joined the United States Navy where she was a Nuclear Mechanical Engineer for six years.
During this time she received two Navy Achievement Medals and multiple Letters of Commendation.
While in the Navy, she was honored to be able to serve her country; however, she knew that she had a calling to promote health and wellbeing in her community.
