Being originally from Faribault, and with my wife Anne being a teacher in the Faribault school district at Jefferson for 15 years, we decided to open a practice in the TherapyWerks building near the Faribault Golf Club.
Hi, my name is Val.
I am a Massage Therapist as well as an Acupuncturist.
I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2007 with my certification in Massage Therapy.
My training was primarily in trigger point and Swedish massage techniques, but over my years of practicing I have developed more skills to get optimal results for my clients.
While in massage school, I found another passion of mine.
I got acupuncture for the first time and fell in love with it.
I went back to school for Acupuncture four months after I finished massage school and pursued that passion.
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference.
The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.
Think of an adjustment as "tuning" a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.
After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up "stuck" spinal joints.
This full spine approach relies on X-rays and a heat-sensing instrument for a thorough evaluation and documented results.
Infrared light (experienced as heat) is the invisible part of the sun's spectrum with the ability to penetrate human tissue to produce a host of health benefits.
It is naturally occurring from the sun and is the basis for all Sunlighten saunas.
Because infrared sauna therapy heats the body directly rather than simply warming the air, it raises the core body temperature and produces a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where most toxins reside.
Far infrared also aids in blood pressure reduction & weight loss, burning up to 600 calories in one 40 minute session!
This lets us know what's happened, but perhaps more importantly, where do you want to take your health?
