At Gray Chiropractic Center, our goal is for you to achieve optimal health and wellness by restoring balance to the body. We are committed to each individual patient, recognizing that each system is unique. We focus on the impact of the main control of your body, the central nervous system. Our distinctive approach is: above down, inside out. Meaning we start with your brain, work down through the central nervous system, and out to all the secondary systems of the body.

The brain and the body have an intimate connection. The brain ultimately controls all of the functions of the body, which it accomplishes in part by the information received from the body through the central nervous system on a continual basis. When the spine is misaligned, the proper information transmitted to the brain can be muted or misinterpreted.

By focusing on the health of the nervous system and the brain-body connection, the interference is removed and proper balance can be restored. At Gray Chiropractic Center, our functional multi-modal approach uses gentle and effective techniques to reinstate the body's natural balance.

The A.O. Technique is specific to the Atlas, the uppermost vertebrae.
The A.O. Technique uses an adjusting instrument developed by Dr. Roy W. Sweat with the aid of engineers at Georgia Tech University.
The precision of the A.O. instrument allows for an adjustment that requires an extremely light force.
For more in depth information regarding this technique visit our Atlas Orthogonal page.
The brain is the master control center for the entire body.
To keep your body in optimum health your brain must function in balance within and between the two brain hemispheres, along with the rest of the nervous system.
The top most vertebrae in your spine, the C1, is also called the Atlas.
The Atlas is the vertebrae your head sits on.
The Atlas also plays a crucial role in your central nervous system, housing neurological, and blood flow to your brain.
Of your vertebrae the Atlas, is the most susceptible to misalignment.
Orthogonal means right angles, or square.
Your Atlas should be level or square on your cervical spine (neck) as in diagram 1. Misalignment of your Atlas, as in diagram 2, can cause your head to tilt which in turn creates multitudes of dysfunctions throughout the entire nervous system, and therefore, all the body systems.
We want you to be comfortable here in our office from the start.
We ask that you please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so you have a chance to meet our staff and fill out the appropriate paperwork.
We also offer the forms online (below) so you have the option of printing it out at home and bringing it with you to your first appointment.
You will then meet one on one with Dr. Gray to discuss your individual case history, followed by a very specific and thorough neurologic-spinal examination.
