Neck pain is the second most common reason, next to back pain, leads someone to first visit Waldwick Family Chiropractic.
It is estimated that for every inch you hold your head forward, approximately 10 pounds of pressure is added to the base of the neck.
The average person holds their head about 3-4 inches forward when looking at their phone or tablet, which means there could be an additional 30-40 pounds of tension added to your spine as you're reading this right now!
We believe the increase in technology use over the past few years is to blame for the drastic increase in neck pain that we are seeing in our Waldwick community.

At Waldwick Family Chiropractic, we've seen many patients who were convinced they needed to suffer through headache pain as a mere fact of life.
We're happy to tell you that that is not the case.
Headaches come in various severities and range from a bland aggravation to the loss of a full day due to pain.
And one of their most unfortunate aspects is that you never know if the small headaches will stay that way or turn into a big one.
So, most of you head to your medicine cabinet, grab the pain meds, and take more than the bottle suggests just to be sure you rid yourself of the problem.

One of the more common causes of acute pain that we see in our office is muscle strains, also known as "pulled muscles".
As we know, muscles attach to bones.
The main job of a muscle is to move a joint, and it accomplishes this goal by shortening and elongating.
When a muscle is irritated, by either over-exertion or repetitive strain, it reacts in a very unique way.
Here at Waldwick Family Chiropractic, we take pride in not only helping you alleviate muscle strains without the use of drugs or surgery but also educate you on how to prevent yourself from suffering from re-injury!
